Official Synopsis from Columbia Pictures ;
Superstar motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) strikes a deal with the vile Mephistopheles for the most precious of commodities,
his immortal soul. Now Johnny Blaze is forever destined to ride night after night as the host to the most powerful supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider.

Ghost Rider is a movie based on the popular comic , “Ghost Rider” about a young daredevil , Johnny Blaze that makes a soul pact with the devil.
The comic , though very dark , was a tremendous success due to its art , storyline , and the character development. Unfortunately , the movie fails to deliver most.

Ghost Rider was directed on a very high budget , thus , having many superstar actors / actresses. It stars Nicholas Cage , as Johnny Blaze or simply known as
Ghost Rider , Eva Mendez as the beautiful yet sophisticated Roxanne Simpson / Johnny Blaze’s lover and the unknown Wes Bentley , as the main villain ; Blackheart.

Ghost Rider’s good points are the animations. Though cheesy , it can prove that movies always look nice with good animations. Example ; A part where Johnny Blaze transforms into his alter ego , Ghost Rider.
His body begins to burn until there is nothing but bones. He then jumps onto his Harley Davidson , which then transforms into a demon bike then 1 would not be able to recreate in anyway for the metal , handles ,
body and all were melted and turned demented in a demon-like way. Other than that , there was a very nice scene where Ghost Rider was going to chase one of the villains , he had to get on top of a skyscraping
building , so he literally DROVE UP THE BUILDING on the windows. Very flashy I must say.

Now this , isnt something one could normally do.

Also , the movie had good acting except for some of the actors. Nicholas Cage managed to maintain his badass-im too good to listen to you mood. Eva Mendez also did a very great job by being able to stay in
characted , and not moving a flinch. Also , Mesatopheles / The Devil , played by wonderful Peter Fonda was able to hold a rougish look on his face , looking like the devil himself. But , this is not all.

As the good parts were not many , the negatives took the other parts about the movie. The acting , by the side characters , were extremely overdone. Like , in one scene , where Johnny goes into a prison cellar ,
a group of criminals proceeded to beat him up. The leader of the group said to Johnny , in a very stiff voice , “Nice Jacket”. And proceeded to beat him. Johnny then bursts into flames , turning into Ghost Rider
and proceeding to walk over to the leader. He picks him up by the collar , and proceeds to say , also in a very stiff voice “Nice Jacket”.

Also , the movie seemed to be rushed throughout the whole thing. Not much was explained other than Johnny’s life , love life and how he became Ghost Rider , though very linear and uninteresting. But the most
rushed thing in the movie , were unexpectantly , the fighting scenes.

Spoiler Warning!

There were 4 scenes alltogether and they all lasted only , maximum , 2 minutes. Tops. Zilch. Nada. The first , was against the Earth Soul Elemental. All GR did was say the most cheesiest line in the whole movie,
“LOOK INTO MY EYES” , where the Earth Soul suffered all his sins. The second , was against the Wind Soul , As GR was trying to hit him with his chain , the wind soul , uneffected , proceeded to say in a loud,
overdone voice “YOU CANT HIT WIND , FOOL”. He then just spins his chain around until he creates a gust of wind that literally blew him away. The third , however , was the shortest , and by far the worst.
The water elemental , grabbed GR in the water , and tried to drown him. GR proceeded to feign death indicated by the color of his flames*. As the water elemental begins to laugh subtlely , GR pops out and screams
“JUST KIIIDDDIING” and DRIES UP THE WATER ELEMENTAL. The last was the easiest but the funniest.

The last baddie , Blackheart , consumes a thousand souls and begins to transform into Legion. Legion then says out loud , “My name is Legion , for IIII ammmm maaannnyyyy”. Honestly , the cinema audiences
laughed. As we know GR’s ultimate power is to able to let a sinner die in a glimpse of an eye , however the sinner must have a soul. So all GR does is , look into Legion’s eye. Pretty anti-climatic for a last scene.

The ugly ? I think I just explained it.

Ghost Rider is a movie with very high expectations. It had good actors/actresses , a high budget , an okay director , a good plot , but failed to deliver because it did not really show what people were expecting.
We do not just want a mini Spiderman clone , which had a good storyline AND good fighting sequences but cut both in half , and you get Ghost Rider. Just with a different person. This movie deserves a RENTAL
the most.

*The colour seems to indicate emotion , where black flames = dying whilst none = dead. Burning red = angry and blue = sad/happy.

A 4.. out of 10. It was so bad , even I couldve done better! Infact some were sleeping through it!
