Maybe we’re lying. Maybe it’s a lie.

I have all sorts of friends. I meet them is so many different kinds of ways.
If you didn’t know I play an online game called Counter-Strike. It’s a shooting game and can be really violent. I’ve been playing it quiet often for the past week. I’m not addicted or anything though :)

So I met someone in a game who calls himself ” telan ” in games.
I added him to my MSN so we could play together more frequently and well, make friends.
I got to find out that he’s a 21 year old male who lives in Singapore and is married.
Well that’s not completely true.
WHY?
because the number #1 rule about the internet is TRUST NO ONE!!

I however believe he is telling the truth because he seems like he is a really nice guy and I actually had a conversation with him this morning. I was thinking since he was married, I would ask him a question about love.

I’m ‘joe’ and he is ‘Tlearvaynnciea’

joe: do you believe
joe: in true love?
Tlearvaynnciea.: nah
Tlearvaynnciea.: lol
joe: then why are you married
Tlearvaynnciea.: i believe its love followed by responsibility
Tlearvaynnciea.: =)
joe: so it’s possible to marry and continue living with someone who is claimed to be your wife eventhough you dont love her?
Tlearvaynnciea.: yea due to responsibility
Tlearvaynnciea.: promises
Tlearvaynnciea.: u will
Tlearvaynnciea.: its fact trust
Tlearvaynnciea.: if not. if only you’re damn rich like as in brad pitt or those actor who can afford to divorce and remarried. =) .. cause true love dont exist…

Tlearvaynnciea.: if let say true love exist
Tlearvaynnciea.: why does many people divorce?
Tlearvaynnciea.: some stick to bgr instead
Tlearvaynnciea.: there’s a big difference in marriage and bgr.

I kinda summarized it and that’s how it looks like. SO anyway, my point is that the things that he said was strong. He’s saying what he feels as if it was fact, which it isn’t. But that doesn’t mean true love exist. I mean, what do I know huh?
Maybe true love was created by the human mind.
Maybe it’s just because some people rather be positive and live a joyful life and believe in such things(love/true love) . OR maybe some people rather dwell and be a sadistic and force themself to not believe such things.
Has it been felt by the human heart, this feeling? Have you felt it?

Or do you think it’s a lie and you have experiences to prove it..

    Very meaningful post, Daniel.
It made me start to think.
A part of me do think there is such thing as true love, I believe the person I’m about to spend my whole lifetime with is my true love. If there is such thing as true love.
However, I believe there is a thing called love. It’s a feeling which is so great yet hurting at times. But I guess everyone has to deal with love problems at a stage in life.

I also think that the high amount of tv shows, movies and music which are about love has influenced the human mind. We are so programmed to believe it and don’t even have a slightest doubt about it. Not just about love in particular but so many other things.

i don’t mean to be all preachy preachy, but i think the Bible hit a good note of what is love. :)

    1 Corinthians 13

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

but yes, i sincerely like this post a lot. :) very raw. and i understand how media has changed a community’s perspective of “love”. but you know, in the end it really is up to the individual hey :) a lot of the love found in this world is very conditional- if it doesn’t meet up to a particular standard, the person may find his or her love wavering. so does this mean that people are merely in love with that personality trait, or the person?

ever heard of unconditional love, where a man just loves and loves and loves SO much, to the point where there’s nothing the other person can do to make him love the person more or less?

just some food for thought. :)
