Free Hugs Campaign

Hey everyone, it has been long since i last visited this blog and i realised that daniel is doing a good job with it so i decided to start blogging again. How many of you heard about the Free Hugs Campaign? How many of you are willing to hug someone who you do not know, who you never met?

Well, i’ll like to give you guys some insights on this particular campaign. This campaign started back in 2004 however it didnt receive many supporters until there was a music video produced back in 2006. The guy in the video is Juan Mann, he was busy hugging away until the police told him that he needed to stop and that he had not obtained public liability insurance. However, he and his companions went around collecting signatures to do a petition. Each day, he and his friends went out and got signatures until it reached 10,000 signatures. After doing that, he was allowed to give free hugs and continue on his journey for world peace.

I think that this campaign will not only do the nation good but will make the world a better place due to the amount of violence happening around the world. The civilians in Iraq are being killed each day, the amount of racial discrimination happening around the world not only in this very country, the amount of people in need of a friend, a hug. How many of you have faced tough times whereby you had no one by your side? Nobody to lean on, nobody to give a hug. A hug can mean so much to a person in need. Imagine the amount of people you can help, the people you can cheer. A hug can help someone who is attempting a suicide, attempting to do something stupid. This campaign has already started in Malaysia. We need more huggers in the world!!

Let us all hug for a better tomorrow, for a better younger generation, for a peaceful world.
